International Women’s Day: Be Bold for Change.

We wish to welcome our participants for our Personnel Exchange Programme (PEP), Mrs. Nora Barasi and Mrs Annette Ofu.

The two ladies come all the way from Kia village in Isabel Province in Solomon Islands. They are here in Fiji with the hopes to learn the setting up and managing of a library along with other librarian related skills and knowledge. The need for this learning attachment is brought about by a library project namely the ‘3 Classroom Library Project’ which is a first for the Kia community and is coordinated by the ladies. The project is funded by the Dan Tingley Foundation and so far has received a donation of 3000 books from Mueller College in Northern Brisbane.

The ladies are teachers at the local Kesao Community School which comprises of primary and secondary learning.

IMR wishes them all the very best on their learning attachment.
